About Me

Hey there — I’m Michael, also known around here as The IT Dad.

I’m a Systems Architect based in southeast Louisiana, a proud U.S. Army veteran, and dad to four amazing daughters (yes, all girls!). I have been working in tech since 2002 — starting out as an IT Specialist in the U.S. Army — and today I help businesses untangle their networks by day… and untangle charger cords and YouTube settings by night.

🎯 Why I Started The IT Dad

The IT Dad was born when I realized my job as a protector didn’t stop at the front door — it extended into the digital world.

As my girls started using phones, tablets, and laptops, I saw just how wide open the internet really is. I knew I had to do something.

So I took what I’ve learned over two decades in IT — from military to enterprise — and started building a digital fortress for my family. Now I’m helping other parents do the same.

🧰 What I Believe

💡 You don’t have to be a tech expert to protect your kids.
It only takes a little time, a few settings, and the right tools.

That’s my mission here: to show you how to take control of your family’s digital life without needing a computer science degree (or losing your mind in the process).
